Boy do i love sci-fi robots :D been painting this guy for a couple hours a day trying out some selection painting art to give my art harder sharper edges, i think its working well.
now more importantly i have been asked questions about how i do my “glow” effect in PS countless times so today i feel i should tell you guys how i do it now.
1. create a brightly coloured light whats is going to glow in my case the sword
2. duplicate the layer and filter > blur > gaussian blur the new layer to quite a high level but not over the top. alternatively take a large soft brush and paint the same colour over the light
3. change the layer to Vivid light
4. repeat step 2 but this time make the blurry area larger than before
5. change the new layers style to hard light
if you follow these 5 simple steps you too can have great looking glows on your artwork so give it a go if you feel up to it :D
ill post more of this guy later
